In Your Own Time: now available as an audiobook!

I’m really pleased to share that the audiobook version of In Your Own Time is now available.

In Your Own Time is the most popular of my recent books. It explores how Western medicine has come to control the timing of labour, and why that matters.

It is already available on Audible and Apple and, if that’s all you need to know, here are the links you need:

Audible Apple

The audiobook is now making its way onto lots of other listening platforms as well, and we will add all those links when they become available.

What’s it about?

In Your Own Time also looks at the evidence around induction of labour, the assumptions that underpin current practice, and the wider cultural and institutional influences that shape the way we think about time, risk, and birth. You can find lots more info about the book here.

And for those who enjoy listening to books, the audiobook offers another way to engage with these ideas.

The audiobook is narrated by Mia Fothergill, a voice artist and midwife, and there’s a short message from me at the beginning as well. I’m really pleased with how Mia has brought the book to life, and I’m confident you’ll enjoy it too.

Where to get it

You can find the audiobook here:

Audible Apple

We will add more links as we get them. If it’s not yet available on your favourite platform, it’s worth making a note and checking back, as some platforms take their time about listing new audiobooks.

People have been asking me to turn In Your Own Time into an audiobook for ages now, so I really hope this news will come as a happy surprise!

Thank you, as always, for reading, listening, and engaging with my work.

I really hope you enjoy the audiobook.
