Holiday time, and a self-care reminder

I’m taking a break.

I’ve been dealing with some energy-sapping health issues for quite a while now. That’s why I’ve not been running online courses or taking on travel, speaking or consultancy projects for the past couple of years.

We’ve finally got some answers, but it’s going to be a bit of a journey back to better health and more energy.

I decided last week that I’m going to start by taking a long summer break.

I’m not planning to look at emails, send out email newsletters, or post any new blog posts over the UK summer. We’re going to take a social media break as well.

Please be aware that we do not look at PMs or DMs on social media, even when we’re working normally. We just can’t keep up with the volume of people wanting free, personalised information.

But my website and books aren’t taking a break!

Sara’s information

There are lots of articles on this site (and a search box) if you’re looking for information, and you can see all my books here.

If you’re looking for something specific, try typing key words into the search box in the top right of every page.

If you’d like sharable birth information, there are lots of posts on my Instagram that you’re welcome to re-share.

And if you’d like to get my regular, reliable update on birth-related research and thinking when I’m back at my desk, just tell us your email address and we’ll send you our free Birth Information Update to your inbox every month, as well as regular emails and advance notice of my new book releases and any courses or workshops I might run.

My most popular content

Here are a few links to my most popular content to keep you going in the hope that this will inspire your own switch off and self-care.

Grab one of my newest books, In Your Own Time, Plus Size Pregnancy, What’s Right For Me? or Anti-D Explained, for your holiday reading.

I have done several podcasts with The Midwives’ Cauldron if you need some holiday listening. My Anti-D podcast is here, I have also done one about induction and In Your Own Time. And the most recent is one on Plus Size Pregnancy.

Thank you

We’ve already received so much support from colleagues and friends, and we are so grateful for all of it. Thank you.

Thank you so much to those who recommend and buy my books – that’s how I’m making a living at the moment.

And if my work has helped you or those you care for over the years and you’d like to support me while I’m having a rest, you can buy me a coffee here.

Have a lovely summer (or winter), and I hope to be back online in the autumn.
