Looking for a Sara Wickham podcast?
I have spoken on several podcasts over the past few years, and this page offers links for those who would like to listen to me chatting about my work and books.
Reframing Risk, Reclaiming Joy …
In November 2025, I chatted with Debra Pascali-Bonaro of the Orgasmic Birth podcast. We unpack how risk talk shapes pregnancy, why many “warnings” don’t match the actual evidence, and how women can reclaim joy, confidence, and even pleasure in birth.
Plus Size Pregnancy
In September 2023, I spoke with Rachel Reed and Katie at The Midwives’ Cauldron about my latest book, Plus Size Pregnancy: what the evidence really says about higher BMI and birth.
Reclaiming Birth
This podcast is from the summer of 2023, when I chatted with Stuart Fischbein of the Birthing Instincts podcast about risk, statistics, and several of the topics that I have written about over the years.
The Risks of the Risk-Based Approach
I’m chatting here with Cynthia and Trisha of the Down to Birth podcast about the risks of the risk-based approach. We also discuss the ARRIVE trial, and I answer questions from their listeners.
Induction of labour
In this podcast, I talk to Megan about induction of labour, and the questions that you might want to ask in order to get information to help you decide if this is right for you and your baby.
In Your Own Time
In September 2021, I launched my book ‘In Your Own Time‘, and recorded this podcast with Rachel Reed and Katie at The Midwives’ Cauldron to chat about why I wrote it and what it was about.
Anti-D Explained
Recorded in May 2021, this was my first ever podcast! I got together with Rachel Reed and Katie James at The Midwives’ Cauldron and we talked about my new book, Anti-D Explained. Have a listen to this one if you’d like to hear about Anti-D/RhoGAM and my research into this area.
Happy listening!

A bonus tip on approaching podcast speakers
We receive many emails asking me to go on podcasts. It’s not something I have time for often, but many of the people who ask us don’t send the right kind of information for us to know whether we would be a good fit.
Some send two lines, which means we would have to go and look them and their podcast up. With the best will in the world, we don’t have time for that.
Others send a long email telling us their story and why they love my work, but don’t tell us enough about their goals, beliefs, audience, or numbers. At the end, I have no idea whether or not the podcast is right for me and my work, or whether it will help me meet my own goals.
So we thought it might be worth sharing that, if you’re asking a speaker to go on your podcast, we recommend that you send a clear and concise outline of you, your work, your podcast, your audience, your ideology, and any relevant numbers.
Give them enough to enable an informed decision, but make it factual and relevant to the speaker.
That way, potential speakers can see if you’re a good match and assess whether being on your podcast could help them achieve their current goals.
We hope that helps!
