We are, and I must admit that I’m a bit shocked to realise this, nearly a quarter of the way through 2017. And, even more shockingly, I haven’t yet posted one post this year offering a reminder about self-care, so I am rectifying that today 😀
Ironically, the reason I’ve not posted is that I have been way busier than I expected to be so far this year, mostly with work and travelling, but also with other family-related stuff that you’ll not know about because, well, we don’t always share all our stuff online, do we? And that’s not a terrible thing, because not everybody wants to share their entire life with the world, but a friend reminded me recently how easy it is to put just the really glossy, photogenic bits of our life out there and to make it look as if we are having a lovely time and that everything is perfect.
Well I am having a lovely time, but right now i don’t mind telling you that I am also trying to pay close attention to the things that I need to say no to in order to say yes to myself and my own self-care. And oh, how hard that can be, because I want to do everything, all the time! But I’m getting better at it. And recently, Chris and I stumbled upon this lovely TED Talk, which was the perfect reminder of this for me at the perfect time. So today, my self-care reminder to you comes in the form of this video, and I hope that you might also find it useful 😀
