Tickets are now available for the 2017 Passage to Motherhood Conference hosted by CAPERS Bookstore in Brisbane, Australia, and I am very happy to be one of the keynote speakers. I can also now reveal that I will be offering a labour progress workshop, riffing about risk and helping participants get up-to-date on the latest birth-related research.
There are lots of things to love about CAPERS conferences. CAPERS Bookstore is a woman-owned, family-run small business whose owners genuinely care about women, birth and midwifery and they put tons of time, love and effort into making these conferences great. They have great speakers (and the call for abstracts can be found here if you’d like to be considered), a lovely venue (where the breakfast is so good that CB is insisting on accompanying me again!), lovely company (of course) and the best conference bookstall south of the equator, which holds many other delights as well. Lastly, and by no means least to someone who loves sewing as much as I do, there’s a red tent and craft circle for all to play in! In fact, at the last CAPERS conference, in a beautiful act of global midwifery sisterhood, some Australian midwives joined me in knitting squares for the Irish Elephant Collective knitting project.
If you’d like to get updates about the conference, you can join CAPERS e-news here, and I look forward to seeing you at the conference! You can jump to the main conference information page here 😀
